Alex Band, Lead Singer of The Calling, Goes Solo

Alex Band, lead singer of The Calling, is back with a new single titled “Tonight”. The song is already gaining radio support. It is currently in the top 40 on the Hot AC charts. The music video was directed by TV veteran David Barrett (The Vampire Diaries, CSI: NY, NCIS: Los Angeles), along with the production crew from the Twilight film series.

“Tonight” is the first single to be lifted from his forthcoming album We’ve All Been There, out June 29th on his own AMB label through EMI.

Kelly Clarkson Updates Fans On New Album

Original American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson has updated fans on the progress of her forthcoming fifth studio album.

Kelly posted the album news on Facebook, saying: “I record my last song on the 25th of this month and then we will be releasing the album! This album was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs.”

She added: “Oh and also one of my favorites on the new album is highly influenced by Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. Eric Hutchinson wrote it ….the album is gonna be a great pop record! I can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”

Her last album, 2009′s All I Ever Wanted, sold 908,000 copies in the United States and spawned the hit singles “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “Already Gone”. It will be interesting to see how radio and the public react to her new material. I am sure the tracks she worked with Greg Kurstin on are amazing.

Adele Performs “Someone Like You” At The Brit Awards

English singer-songwriter Adele gave an amazing live performance of her song “Someone Like You” at the 2011 Brit Awards last night.

“Someone Like You,” which was written by Adele and Dan Wilson, is the second single to be lifted from her forthcoming studio album 21. The album, which is the followup to her critically acclaimed debut album 19, will hit stores in the US on February 22nd. You can pre-order the album on iTunes.

Don’t forget that Adele will be hitting the road in the US later this year. The tour will kick off in Washington, DC on May 12 and run through June 20, 2011. Check her official site for more information. www.adele.tv
